Welcome to the New Inn. John S. Sargent, 19 Jan 2007.

A public house is usually one of the mainstays of English village life - along with the church and post office. The New Inn is a "traditional 18th Century House" - the only pub in the village, with a lounge bar and restaurant. The pub has a good range of beers and lagers including a fine selection of cask ales.

There were a number of ale houses in years gone by, but, in these more sober times, they have long since vanished. There is a social club nearby and Charlie's Bar at Walton Hall (a reference to Charles Waterton, a teetotaller).

CHARITY FUNDRAISING: The event held on 23rd March 2010 at the New Inn was very successful with £523 raised from ticket sales, raffle, beetle drive and quiz. All money to be shared as follows – £400 to Yorkshire Air Ambulance and £123 (plus another £25 in donations) to St Paul's Church, Walton. The food was donated by the New Inn. Alec Riach entertained with a singalong. Thanks to Linda S. and Barbara B. for organising the event, the 50's Singers (fresh from their Andrews Sisters and Mama Mia Mimers triumphs at the church!), and Tommy T. of the New Inn for his help in making it happen. Expectations were exceeded all round! Read more here.
