Click to enlargeThe northern end of Pugneys Country Park by the River Calder. The lake amongst the tree is an old gravel pit; it is adjacent to but not part of the country park. The old osier bed was to the left of the river. The bridge carries the A636 Denby Dale Road across the river. A public right of way (Crigglestone No. 1) runs along the bank from the bridge towards Portobello and the castle.
