Welcome to St. Paul's.
St. Paul's was dedicated in 1898 by the Bishop of Wakefield. It owes its existence to the generosity of Mr Edward Simpson (of Soap House fame), who provided the land and materials for the construction of the church. It was made of prefabricated corrugated iron sheets built in London. The present building was erected in 1967. This picture shows the church before the Barnabas Room was added.
Various local community activities take place at the church. St. Paul's is part of the Christan, Anglican Parish of Sandal Magna, find out more here.

A Fancy Dress prize of a three-course Sunday Lunch for two people at the New Inn, Walton was won by C. Tweedie. The prize was generously donated by Tommy the Landlord.

Entertainment was the "Andrew Sisters" from Crofton and Altofts (otherwise known as D. Jordan, M. Westmoreland and B. Holmes) - a sight and sound to behold!
There was a sing-along, dancing and luxury war-time tucker. All food was generously provided by 5 members of the church - "The Famous Five".

Over 80 people attended. It was a fantastic night and will be remembered for a long time. A big "thanks" to all who participated. Photograph © John S. Sargent 6th November 2009.
