1. Squire Charles WATERTON The Naturalist1 was born on 3 Jun 1782 in Walton Hall, Walton, Wakefield, West Riding of Yorkshire.1,2 The fine old english gentleman. He died on 27 May 1865 in Walton Hall, Walton, Wakefield, West Riding of Yorkshire. He was buried on 3 Jun 1865 in Walton Hall, Walton, Wakefield, West Riding of Yorkshire.3 Charles and Anne were first married in Brugge (Bruges) and then in Sandal Magna.4 DOB Notes According to J.W. Walker (1): Charles Waterton's DOB was 12 Jun 1782. The Rev. J.G. Wood (2); Biography, page 83 et seq.gives the DOB as 3 Jun 1782, provided by the Squire during a conversation with the Misses Edmonstone on 3 Jun 1864.

Marriage to Anne Mary Edmonstone. J.W. Walker (1) gives the date as 11 May 1829. Julia Blackburn (3) gives the date as 18 May 1829. Sandal Magna (4): A marriage ceremony took place in St. Helen's Church, Sandal Magna, Wakefield, West Riding of Yorkshire on 20 Dec 1829.

Charles Waterton's death and funeral were reported in The Illustrated London News, 17 Jun 1865.
