Gadshill, Kent - the starting point of the epic ride to York.
Gadshill is on the old main road from Dover to London (now superseded by the modern M2 Motorway and A2 trunk road). From here, Nevison rode to Chelmsford, crossing the River Thames by ferry from Gravesend to Tilbury.
